Inspired by the green fields behind Dumfries House, this course encapsulates the beauty of a lush Ayrshire landscape.  This workshop is all about how to use oils without making mud, getting into a mess, having to wait weeks for drying ... it's instant, it's loose, it's freeing and it's all in just 30 minutes. All you need is 5 tubes of paint, a surface, one brush and a kitchen sponge! Perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike, this course offers a transformative painting experience that will leave you inspired and excited to create more!

Meet Your Instructor

I’m Gillian Park — an award-winning Scottish artist with a deep love of landscape, colour and expressive oil paint.  Inspired by the fields, hedgerows, skies and wild edges of Ayrshire, I’m known for big, atmospheric landscapes full of rich colour and movement. I’ve been a wildcard artist on Landscape Artist of the Year, and one of my landscape paintings is held in The King’s Foundation collection at Dumfries House — the very place that inspired this class. In this session, I’ll help you get past the fear, the faff and the muddy nonsense, and show you how joyful oils can be.
